The sound of your voice is probably the most important component of a call. It would be very irritating if you can hear the person on the other end of the line perfectly but he can’t hear you one bit. Skype users often come across audio problems on their calls and have tried numerous ways to fix it.
Many Skype users experience almost the same problems. The most common of them is with their microphones. It’s the “your microphone is too quiet” problem. It is when you could see or hear the person on the other end, but they couldn’t hear you.
I‘ve tried to discover the best possible way to resolve this and I’ve come up with a few suggestions on how to fix this problem.
Suggested Fix “Your Microphone is Too Quiet” Problem:
Adjust the Volume Settings of your computer. On the lower right corner of the screen, double click on the speaker icon and a dialogue box shall appear.
On the “Options” drop down menu, select “Advanced Controls”. Another dialogue box shall appear, on the lower portion select or check the “Microphone boost” or “Loud” option, then “Close”.
Make sure all the Balance controls are set in the middle and Volume controls are set to maximum. Also, make sure no Mute buttons are checked.
Try using a different microphone. A microphone is the best way to ensure that the your voice will be heard. There are a number of Skype compatible microphones and headsets available in the market today.
Re-install Skype. If you think that the problem is with your Skype settings, try re-installing Skype on your computer.
Update your drivers and check your soundcard. Errors in your soundcard may cause problems with your microphone. Each type of microphone needs the correct driver to run properly.
Skype Audio Configuration. “Automatically adjust microphone settings” should always be checked. This allows Skype to set the microphone settings at its best performance. Make sure that the correct microphone is selected as the input device for Skype.
Check for mute buttons and loose plugs. Be sure to check to see if you microphone is not muted. Also don’t forget to check if the microphone is plugged all the way to its socket.
Some of these suggested fix may work and others may not. All depends on the device, software, driver, soundcard or microphone you are using.
